CityMobil2

The ARTS (Automated Road Transport Systems) are automatic road transport systems that consist of automated vehicles, dedicated infrastructure and control systems, which are tested and developed through demonstration under the european CityMobil2 project.

CityMobil2 is the tenth european project on ARTS funded by the European Commission since 2001. There are three main objectives of CityMobil2 research:

  • Implementation of ARTS in several european cities, through demonstration lasting between 3 and 6 months, and showcases of the duration of one week;
  • Creation of a common european directive for certifying ARTS;
  • Study of the socio-economic effects of automation in the long run.

The project has a duration of four years, from 1 September 2012 to 31 August 2016, and consists of a consortium of 45 european partners coordinated by CTL. In the consortium there are 12 european cities.

The CityMobil2 web site, from which you can download the material relating to the project, the official newsletter and public deliverables, is: www.citymobil2.eu
