Green eMotion

A European framework for electric mobility

The European Commission has decided to promote electric mobility in urban areas in order to reduce drastically the polluting emissions. One of the main instruments used to achieve this is the research project Green eMotion. The project involved the major European industry players: Siemens (who is also the coordinator), Bosch, manufacturers of electricity ENEL and ENDESA, cities such as Rome, Berlin and Barcelona and some of the leading European research centers (the Imperial College, the Danish DTU and the CTL of the "Sapienza").

The Green eMotion project has made possible a mass development of electric mobility in Europe, integrating and coordinating all activities and experiments launched at national and local level. In essence, Green eMotion is the instrument with which the European Commission has coordinated all activities at the continental level on electric mobility, with the aim of creating a single European market, in order to allow an easy payment system for recharging electrical vehicles, identifying the best infrastructural, administrative and financial forms to support and accelerate the deployment of electric mobility.

In essence, through Green eMotion, the European Commission wants to make Europe the world leader in electric mobility.

CTL has played a key role in the project, conducting analyzes and studies in the assessment and analysis of the impact of incentive/administrative support policies on the use of electric vehicles.
