ICT technologies at mobility's service

Monitor and manage vehicles from a distance

The development of ICT technologies at the service of mobility is one of the main tasks of CTL since 2003.

The pride and the basis of the research in this field - used for many projects on mobility - is the instrumentation developed by the Centreboard: an instrument that allows you to monitor use, performance, fuel consumption and emissions of vehicles.

This instrumentation ICT (Fig. 1) - interfaced with the on-board sensors - detect all of the vehicle's driving parameters as well as its energy response and, by means of suitable models, the instantaneous emissions. The data acquired are transferred to the CTL platform with broad and short-distance bandwidth connections (Wi-Fi).

Each type of vehicle has a calibrated and guaranteed instrumentation. To do this, the vehicle is equipped with a portable instrument for the measurement of Obs type emissions. Thus, a series of preliminary tests of validation and calibration of relations is provided with which the instantaneous emissions from each vehicle of the same type will be measured.
